University of Kentucky, Lexington, KYMarketing & Communications Specialist

NOVEMBER 2021 – PRESENT

Beginning in November 2021, I assumed the role of marketing specialist for UK Campus Housing and Auxiliary Services. I work in close collaboration with UK Campus Housing and UK Public Relations and Marketing to develop messaging strategy, create multi-channel communications, and design marketing collateral. 

  • Planned and executed Big Blue Move-In 2022 as part of a team, welcoming over 7,000 new and returning residents to their homes on University of Kentucky’s campus over the course of a three day event.
  • Developed customer journeys and content strategy for the successful student-focused redesign of the UK Campus Housing website.
  • Designed and implemented internal workflows for recruitment events using our enterprise content management system.
  • Improved communication with a key audience by establishing a parent-facing microsite for UK Campus Housing.
  • Created email communications targeted toward key audiences, including students and parents.
  • Contributed to the messaging strategy and design of marketing collateral, including student guides, promotional materials, and direct email marketing. 
  • Represented UK Campus Housing, Dining and Living and Learning Programs at student recruitment events throughout the Southeast.

Bluegrass Runners, Lexington, KYLead Race Director

JANUARY 2021 – PRESENT

For nearly 40 years, Bluegrass Runners has produced the annual Thoroughbred Classic 5K race, which is Lexington, KY’s largest and most historic 5K road race. I was elected to the role of Lead Race Director in 2021. 

  • Generated an event profit of $36,000 for the support of local charitable organizations.
  • Led committee for event planning, including venue coordination, vendor management, volunteer recruitment, fundraising strategies, event production and promotion. 
  • Developed and executed high-conversion email campaigns. 
  • Created artwork for 2021 runner premiums and merchandise.
  • Updated and maintained race website and registration system. 
  • Assisted in the planning and production of race communications, including social media, newsletters and press releases.

As technical administrator, I managed all aspects of the Kronos Workforce Central workforce management system.
